Tim Byrne, Professor in Department of Geosciences at the University of Connecticut, USA is appointed Visiting Professor in Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies for the Spring 2021 term. He is invited by our faculty member, Prof. Chin-Ho Tsai to visit our department for four (4) months. He is primarily interested in integrating structural geology and tectonics through field studies of modern and ancient orogenic belts. He also participated and co-lead ocean-drilling expeditions to active subduction zone in the Nankai Through, southwest Japan. Furthermore, during his stay in Taiwan, he also involves in NSF-MOST Geoscience collaboration projects.
